The symbolic heart of the festivities remains Santa’s House at 31 Via dei Platani, a private and free attraction that in 2025 will feature almost 580,000 LED lights, confirming its status as a true “record-breaking residence”. The lights will be on from Saturday 6 December until 6 January, every day from 5pm to 9pm, and can be admired exclusively from the surrounding pavement, with no entrance fee, in full respect of the non-commercial nature of the initiative. The inauguration is preceded by the traditional Santa Claus Walk, meeting at 4.30pm in Piazza Risorgimento and arriving at Santa’s House, where panettone, mulled wine, hot chocolate and musical accompaniment by the San Giuseppe band await the public, as well as support from the Alpini.
Next to Santa’s House, the municipal administration is offering a programme of events that showcases the city’s symbolic locations. A life-size nativity scene will be set up in the courtyard of honour of the Medici Castle, while the Tower of the Castle will host the eagerly awaited “Descent of Santa Claus”, organised by the CAI, designed to amaze the little ones. On various dates in December, gospel concerts and shows are scheduled at the “La Corte dei Miracoli” theatre, the Christmas train in Via Zuavi, treasure hunts with shopkeepers, panettone at the senior citizens’ centre and a live nativity scene at the Palazzina Trombini, culminating in the exchange of Christmas greetings on 24 December organised by the Municipality and Confcommercio in Piazza Risorgimento, which symbolically closes the run-up to Christmas in Melegnano.

Finally, let’s not forget the famous Father Christmas House, the large and picturesque light show at Via dei Platani 31, open from 7 December 2024. The colourful ensemble, curated by Massimiliano Goglio, can be admired until 6 January, with lighting every day from 5pm to 9pm.
